God…

We believe that God is the creator and savior of the world, and that he is one. We also believe 1 Timothy 3:16, which tells us that God was manifest in the flesh, (literally meaning “rendered apparent”), in the form of the man Jesus Christ. We accept that Jesus Christ is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit: three distinct roles and manifestations of one indivisible God.

The Bible…

We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God, and that every word of it is true. The Bible was inspired of God, literally meaning, “God-breathed”, and was written by holy men as the Holy Ghost moved on them to record it. We accept that the Bible is the only guide to salvation, and contains the instructions necessary for reaching Heaven.

Salvation…

In Acts 2, after the Holy Ghost was poured out upon the disciples of Jesus, the Apostle Peter preached about the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to the crowd of onlookers that had gathered. Being convicted by what they heard, the crowd asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Peter answered them in Acts 2:38: “…Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”. From that day forward, the Apostles preached this plan of salvation to all the world, and we believe that it is still the plan for salvation for the world today.

Life After Calvary…

After repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, we believe that God calls us to a new lifestyle: one that is void of sin and committed to holiness. In 2 Corinthians 6:17, we are instructed to come out from among the unbelievers, and to touch not the unclean thing. We accept that holiness begins in the heart, but understand that it also manifests itself in the lives we live in obedience to the commandments and statutes of God’s holy Word.

Personal Dedication…

“Pray without ceasing”. “Give attendance to reading”. “Is not this the fast that I have chosen?”. These words are just a few of the commandments found in scripture that adjure us to maintain our relationship with God through personal dedication. We believe that when an individual begins their personal relationship with Jesus Christ through obedience to Acts 2:38, they will grow and mature that relationship through prayer, fasting, and reading God’s Word.

The Church…

In Acts, after the day of Pentecost, we find that the newly founded church gathered regularly for worship and preaching. We believe that you cannot be saved without regular church attendance, and without a pastor in your life. 1 Corinthians 1:21 tells us, “…It pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” In Jeremiah 3:15, the Lord said that he would, “give you pastors according to mine heart”. In Hebrews 10:25, the Apostle Paul says, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…” We accept that the plan of God calls for our submission to pastoral authority, and regular attendance to the house of God.
